Subaru Repair: 96 outback taillight/fuse issue, dashboard lights, amp fuse

Question
Hi there,
A month ago, I took the key out of the ignition of my '96 Outback and the taillights/running lights stayed on. Tried everything but they would not turn off so I ended up taking the 20 Amp fuse out of the panel box under the hood. That worked for summer as it is day light and I still have head lights and brake lights.
But now when I put the fuse back in, nothing happens. Still no taillights, running lights or interior dashboard lights.
Any ideas?

Answer
wow you got me on this one. The reason the lights stayed on in the first place is the switch on top of the steering column. That is your park light switch, make sure it is flip foward so no red is showing. as far as what happened from there I couldn't tell you. Make sure the fuse you are putting in is good.
