Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Santa Fe 2004 Paint Problem, Hyundai, Paint

Have there been any issues with the Santa Fe 2004 paint on the top of the fr0nt fenders on the top edge where it meets the hood.  My paint appears to be wearing off in that area and the Hemstead dealer told me I didn't wax the car often enough.. As it's off warrenty - who can I ask up the Hyundai chain to review the issue. Thanks

I have not personally heard of an issue with the paint on any Hyundai past the year 2000. However, considering your Santa Fe is a 2004, there should not be any paint defects as of now.

I don't believe that "waxing" your car has anything to do with paint damage after only 4 years. Usually sun-fading would be the primary cause after that amount of time. If you live in a climate where warm sunshine hits the car repeatedly, that would be the only natural cause I can think of.

The only number that you can call to negotiate a deal would be 1-800-633-5151. I don't believe that they will really give in and do anything about it though, because as you said, it is off of their warranty now, and that is all that they will be concerned about. That number is the customer support line for the United States division. I am not sure what country you are from, but that is the only number I have on file.
