Hyundai Repair: timing belt cover, Hyundai, Timing

Question
the seal around the timing belt cover has dry rotted how can i replace the seal-- or what can i use instead to seal the timing belt cover

Answer
I am not quite sure what kind of engine you have or what year your car is, but if you are looking to replace the timing belt cover seal, I have actually used double sided weather stripping to create a seal for certain items before, so that may work just as well in this case as well. Just make sure that you get a stripping that is somewhat thin, is sticky on both sides, not just one, and be sure to line the entire trim of the timing belt cover before you place it back on and screw it down.

I hope this helps you and if you need anything else, I will gladly help you out.
