Hyundai Repair: Throttle Position Sensor, throttle position sensor, hyundai santa fe

Question
I have a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. I am traveling and am out of state..so I do not have my usual mechanic. Today, my car would not go more than about 15 mph. The only place open was a Firestone. I took it there and they suspect it is a throttle position sensor. How much should I expect to pay for repairs. I need someone to educate me quickly as I do not want to overpay. They know I am trapped with my 3 young daughters. Thanks

Answer
O baby, sorry.  I signed up on this website as an auto paint expert.  Don't know why i get mechanic questions.  i paid $285.00 just for a throttle position sensor on my Mitsubishi eclipse and i put it on and it didn't change anything.  I do not know about hyundai and yes they do have you at their mercy.  I would pray a lot if i were you before i said yes.  If you were my daughter or wife i would make sure you had triple AAA Plus Gold that gives you motel while you wait for Hyundai dealer to open up tomarrow and tows your car there. It is cheap enough for the insurance! I wouldn't trust firestone over a hyundai dealer but sunday is a bad day to break down.  I feel for you but have no other solution than to ask Jesus for a badly needed miracle that the firestone mechanic gets the "Mind of Christ" on the repair and you get deliverance from getting ripped off.  Did firestone even say they could obtain a throttle positon sensor today?  I had to drive 35 miles to a dealership to get mine when they were open only during bankers hours.
