Hyundai Repair: engine noise, hyundai tiburon, 2003 hyundai tiburon

Question
I just recently bought a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon 4 cyl. manual from a private seller.  The Tiburon has 83,000 miles on it.  When starting the vehicle after sitting for a while, i hear a knocking sound pretty loudly.  When the motor warms up, after about 5 minutes, the noise goes away.  This vehicle drives and runs great on the road.  Just scared of this noise and wanting to make it go away.  What are the possibilities?  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hello Craig,
If it is a low pitch knocking it might be valve hydraulic adjusters.Sometimes ,low engine oil level or lack of oil change can cause that type of noise.
If it is a high pitch noise then it might be more serious problem like rod knock. This is a major internal problem at engine block. Take it to a shop as soon as possible before it gets worse.
