Hyundai Repair: Hyundia Excel 1998 - Almost stalling, service interval, hyundai excel

Question
Hi there,
I have a 1998 model Hyundai Excel with an automatic transmission.
On many occasions while driving recently, after releasing my foot from the accelerator then reapplying it (for example, when merging into traffic) the engine often shudders, almost as if it is about to stall. This is accompanied by the continued deceleration of the car.
This often lasts about 2 seconds before the engine regains power and properly accelerates the vehicle as it normally would.

I've also noticed that after stopping at stop lights or crossings, the engine also shudders when I try to move off again. This typically lasts for a split second.

Additional information:
- The engine still starts easily while cold
- The engine has been properly serviced it's whole life, according to Hyundai's service interval guidelines.
- It has approximately 110 000KM (68 350 Miles)on the clock.
- The problem doesn't seem to happen until the engine has properly reached operating temperature (about 10 - 15 minutes into driving). This may be purely coincidental.

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Answer
Hello John,
Having shudder or hesitation during accelaration usually indicates poor ignition spark ,faulty spark plugs and/or wires. Have your ignition coil, spark plugs and wires  inspected. Also make sure fuel pressure and ignition timing are within specs.
