Hyundai Repair: sonata 2000, crankshaft sensor, exhaust manifold

Question
QUESTION: Our 2000 sonata began to sputter after sitting for a few months. It was only around 35 to 40 miles per hour. As we drove the car on to the highway through the acceleration the car died and has not started again. The battery is good and the starter turns over but there is no spark. Can you help?

ANSWER: Hello,
I think you have a malfunctioning crankshaft sensor.

QUESTION: can you tell me where it is located?

Answer
Hi again,
2.4 Engine: It is behind the crankshaft sprocket. You need to remove the timing belt to reach it.
2.5 Engine: It is located on the engine block. Radiator side, underneath the exhaust manifold, above the starter. It is somewhat easy to reach.
