Hyundai Repair: 2001 Hyundai Elantra, hyundai elantra, transmission control module tcm

Question
I own a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and for the past few weeks it has been acting up.  There doesn't seem to be any specfic variables to when it does.  It has been losing power while driving.  Sometimes it acts as though it has bad gas or isn't getting gas.  It will jerk a little then sometimes the check engine light will come on.  The next time I start it the check engine light goes off.  I had diagonostic run and it gave me two codes; P1529 Manf Cntrl Veh. Spd Idle Speed Control Auxiliary Inputs and P0720 Output Speed Sensor Circut Control Malfunction.  Do you know what the exact problem/s could be and the parts I would need to fix the problem/s?  Any input would be apresciated.  Thanks.

Answer
P0720 indicates there is a problem with the signal received by the transmission control module (TCM) from the output speed sensor.  P1529 indicates that the TCM has requested the engine control module (ECM) to turn on the check engine lamp.

In every case of P0720 I've seen (except one), the problem has been the sensor itself.  You should feel rather secure that replacing the speed sensor will resolve your issues.
