Hyundai Repair: no power,chokes out, fuel pressure gauge, fuel pressure regulator

1996 elantra, starts and idols fine, but when you try to take off iut chokes out and sputters, back off on the gas and it slowly picks up speed but press to far on the pedal and it starts to choke out can only get up to about 30 mph because when i press down father on the pedel it sputters and starts to choke again any tips on what i can do to try and fix problem. the ck engine light doesn't come on when it happens.

Most likely, your fuel pump is worn, causing low fuel pressure.  To check for sure, install a fuel pressure gauge (you'll need an adapter for the fuel filter or fuel line connection) and measure your fuel pressure.  The pressure should be 37 PSI at idle with the vacuum hose connected to the fuel pressure regulator and 44 PSI with the hose disconnected.  If your pressure is significantly lower, replace the fuel pump.
