Hyundai Repair: wipers, wiper motors, wiper arms

Question
My wipers have started to skip, drag and stick going across the windsheild. It used to be smooth. This just started recently. My blades don't need to be changed yet. I don't want to burn out the wiper motors by keeping on letting them strain to pull across the windshield.  Thank you for your help.

Answer
Wiper blades are designed to flip from one side to the other as they reverse directions.  If this flipping doesn't occur, the condition you describe occurs.

First, check the wiper arms to be sure they're not bent or damaged.  If not, the wipers have likely taken a set from remaining in the parked position for too long a period of time.  If this is the case, I'd recommend replacing the wiper blades.
