Hyundai Repair: 2001 Elantra Rotors, phillips screws, steering knuckle

Question
I'd like to replace the rotors along with the pads & shoes, but I am having difficulty removing them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Answer
First, you'll need to make sure you've removed the screws retaining the rotors to the hubs.  If they haven't already been removed, there will be two #3 Phillips screws holding each front rotor to the hub and one or two on each rear rotor.  You may need an impact driver to break the screws loose.  Once you have the screws loose, the rotors should slide off.  Often they're rusted onto the hub, making it necessary to hammer them off.  If you're not reusing the rotors, feel free to use about a four pound hammer to knock them off (making sure to not hit the steering knuckle).
