Hyundai Repair: 2001 Hyundai Accent Problem, fuel pressure gauge, gauge kit

Question
QUESTION: How in the heck to I check the fuel pressure.  I have a 1.5 liter engine auto trans.  I checked and don't see any place on the fuel rail where i can attached my fuel pressure gauge.  Any ideas? Car does't rev when i push the gas, it takes a while for the engine to rev up, could this be a possible fuel pump problem. Too me it feels like it is not getting any gas, i already changed the fuel filter.

ANSWER: Unfortunately, Hyundai doesn't provide any easy attachment for a fuel gauge.  You'll need to use an adaptor between the fuel delivery hose and the fuel rail.  Your symptoms do indeed sound like you may have a fuel pump issue.

QUESTION: Do you happen to know where i can get this adaptor or a part #

Answer
You can check your local parts store.  If they don't have anything to suggest, you'll probably need to purchase from a Snap-On or other tool dealer.

Hyundai dealers have a gauge kit with all the adaptors necessary for Hyundai vehicles, but I'm sure you won't want to purchase an entire gauge kit if you already have a gauge.
