Hyundai Repair: How do I find where the pulse generator is on a 1998 Hyundai Tiburon FX?, hyundai tiburon, wire tension

Question
I have been told my problem with my Tiburon is with the pulse generatior and I bought the part. The problem is I can not find the old part to replace it with the new. This part will help the transmission shift better and stay in 3 gear. Because now it will sometimes jump out of 3, either back into 2 or up into 4th. Which when doing highway speeds, jumping back to 2 is scary and jumps up your rpms. I just need to know where to look for this, the part I have is a Y shape wire, with one plug well I guess they are all kind of plugs. But one plugs into something, then others have the look of screws that will hold them into place. So would you know where that might go in the transmission but on what side of the engine and where I should be looking. I have the air cleaner off and the battery removed as well as the plate that the battery sits on, looking for this. Thank you for your time! Linda

Answer
One pulse generator is on top of the transmission behind the mount, and the other is on the front of the transmission at the bottom of the end cover.  The connector is typically attached to a tab on the mount.  After replacing the pulse generators, leave the connector laying on top of the transmission rather than reattaching to the tab.  This will help prevent wire tension from making a poor contact in the connector.
