Hyundai Repair: GAS FILL, charcoal canister, flow 4

Question
I HAVE A 2002 XG350, MY GAS TANK ACCEPTS GAS AT AN EXTREMELY LOW RATE OF PRESSURE. IT TAKES ME FOREVER TO FILL UP. IT SEEMS AS IF SOMETHING IS BLOCKING THE FLOW.
                     THANK YOU,

Answer
Thanks, Gino.  The 2002 XG is required by law to accept all fuel vapor from refueling and manage this vapor.  As you fill your tank, the vapor is pushed into the charcoal canister, which then vents air to the atmosphere.  This issue can be caused by any of the following:
1.  Kinked or pinched fuel vapor hose or line.
2.  Stuck closed canister close valve.
3.  Liquid fuel in canister, preventing appropriate flow.
4.  Plugged canister air filter.
5.  Physically damaged fuel tank.

Considering the age of your car, I'd recommend checking visually for any bent or kinked lines and for damage to the fuel tank.  If you observe none, you'll probably have good luck with replacing the canister filter.  If you'd like, when you remove the canister assembly to replace the filter, you can check to see if you can blow through the close valve (which you should be able to do).
