Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Entourage, hyundai entourage, radio antenna

Question
I recently purchased a 2007 Hyundai Entourage GLS and although the dealer seemed knowledgeable there seemed to be some lacking once the vehicle was delivered.

Issue 1: DVD (RES) - it says Clarion on it, and there is no RES button on the radio console (there is an Equalizer button there instead) and I was told that an FM channel in the 88's would give me clear sound thru the speaker system. I tried every station and only 107.9 gave any sound from the DVD. It was very staticly and when passing thru certain areas played local stations. Can you propose a solution.

Issue 2: Sometimes when closing the side doors, they beep 3 times and then you can't reopen the door. One dealer told me this may be due to "uneven" ground. Well, looking around the city, most ground is uneven.

Issue 3: Is there a way to have the FOB auto open all doors with one push of the unlock button, instead of two ?

Issue 4: Is there no auto on/off for the front headlights?

Thank you for your help

Answer
Issue 1:  DVD isn't available on the GLS, so if you have a DVD system in a GLS, it's aftermarket.  Most likely, the system transmits on a particular frequency which is, in turn, picked up by the radio antenna.  Since this isn't a Hyundai component, I won't be able to answer specific questions about its operation.  Since this is an aftermarket system, you should have received an additional owner's book about the system published by the system's manufacturer.  If you haven't received this, request this material from the dealer.

Power sliding doors are also listed as not available on the GLS, so I have some suspicion that you may not have a GLS.  In any case, if you had a Hyundai DVD system, the sound should transmit directly, not through a radio frequency.

Issue 2:  There are several ways that operation of the power sliding doors can be restricted:
1. Power button on overhead console.  Turning this off will prevent operation of the doors from any input (except possibly the remote).
2.  Gearshift must be in Park.  The power door will not open unless the gearshift is in park, for obvious safety reasons.
3.  Child safety lock.  Either power door can have all interior controls turned off with its child safety lock.
4.  Window down.  If the sliding door window is down, the door will be prevented from fully opening for safety reasons.  This will prevent someone with a body part out of the window from being injured.
5.  Fuel door open.  If the fuel door is open, the power door on that side will be prevented from opening.

Issue 3:  The system is programmed to unlock only the driver's door on the first press of the unlock button for safety reasons.  There is no way to change this.

Issue 4:  Auto lamps come only on the SE and Limited models.  The lamps do turn off automatically once you remove the key and open the driver's door, so if you like, you can leave them on at all times and they'll turn off when you get out.
