What I should I use to clean the evaporator to remove the musty A/C smell?  Is this not accessible after removing the glove box?

You'll be able to access the blower fan compartment but not the evaporator itself by removing the glove box.  

Here's what I recommend for removing the odor.  First, get some aerosol air freshener of your choice.  Start your vehicle and turn the blower to high, the temperature to full hot, and the air intake to fresh air.  Then spray the air freshener into the holes in the top of the cowl on the passenger side of the vehicle.  The blower fan will suck the air freshener in and through the heater and a/c system.
