Hyundai Repair: Tapping noise under hood of 2003 Hyundai Sonata, 2003 hyundai sonata, hyundai sonata

Question
I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata LX V6 (purchased new).  The car has 32,000 miles.  The car is regularly maintained, and runs perfectly.  Recently, however, I occasionally get a tapping sound under the hood when I start it in the morning.  The tapping goes away as soon as the car warms up.  It doesn't sound like a valve or lifter; it actually sounds like something vibrating.  Since it doesn't happen every time I start the car, and since the car will be completely warmed up by the time I get to the dealer, I wonder whether or not to take it in or if it might be something minor.  Any ideas on what it might be?  Thank you for any help you can give!

Answer
Realistically, your noise could be coming from just about anything that moves.  You should take it in to the dealer to have it checked.  Make plans to drop it off in the evening so it can sit ovenight before they check it.  That way, it'll be cold when they check it.  Also be sure to make them aware that the noise only happens when the car is cold.  That way, if they're still working that day, they'll know to keep it until the next day to check it.
