Hyundai Repair: 2001Hyndia xg350, transmission control module, engine control module ecm

My check engine light will come on after I have driven about 15 to 20 min. the car will jump and go into third gear (  in manual shift and automatic shift ) and I can not change gears until I pull over and turn the engine off and restart it

If your transmission control module (TCM) detects certain problems, it will command the transmission to third gear and request the check engine lamp to be turned on.  To determine the nature of the problem, you'll need to read the trouble codes from the engine control module (ECM) and TCM.
