Hyundai Repair: purge control valve, hyundai products, p0440

Question
I have had the check engine light go on and the error message is 440 it appears to be the purge control valve , where is it ? so I can replace it?  thanks George

Answer
P0440 indicates a generic evaporative system malfunction, not necessarily a problem with the purge control valve.  This code is *very* rare on Hyundai products.  If you haven't had any diagnosis beyond reading the code, I'd recommend taking the vehicle to the dealer to have the problem diagnosed before making repairs.  On newer vehicles, the dealer will be able to run the evaporative self tests and, in some cases, monitor the results.

Unfortunately, without knowing the year and model of your vehicle, I'm unable to tell you where the purge control valve is located.
