Hyundai Repair: transmission, negative battery cable, transmission control module

Question
i have a 2001 hyundai accent gl 1.6L , and i replaced the transmission in it and i was told that it needs to be reset and i was wondering how i would go about doing this

Answer
Your transmission control module (TCM) learns how quickly the shifts occur in your transmission.  When you replace the transmission, the values it has learned will change.  To reset this on your car, disconnect the negative battery cable for ten seconds.  If you did this during the course of replacing the transmission (very likely) the reset has already occurred.  The TCM will learn the new values as the car is driven.
