Hyundai Repair: How to Start My 2001 Sonata, hyundai sonata, battery terminals

Question
I have a 2001 Hyundai Sonata V6 automatic with over 100k miles. When starting for about 4 days it sounded like it was dragging. Today, I drove about 200 miles, stop for gas, and it took a while to get it started i went about 5 miles shut it off and it want start at all, engine will not turn over, lights, radio works fine. what could be my problem.

Answer
Since your vehicle was cranking slowly leading up to this problem, I suspect your battery is too weak to start the engine.  If you're unable to try charging the battery, I'd recommend replacing the battery.

Once the battery has been replaced, perform a basic alternator check by starting the engine and checking the voltage between the battery terminals.  The voltage should be between 13.5 and 15.5V.
