Hyundai Repair: 99 hyundai accent purge valve, purge valve, fuel vapors

my check engine light is on,the trouble code said purge valve ,is there away to check it? Or could it be something in the tank?

The purge control valve is located under the underhood fuse box, just beside the air cleaner.

Answer
The problem you're looking for will depend on which particular code has been set.  To be sure I'm telling you to make the proper checks, I'll need to know the code # (P0444, for example).

Most purge control valve failures occur when the purge control valve sticks open.  The valve should be closed when not energized and open when energized.  With the key off, if you suck on the intake manifold end of the hose running from the intake to the purge control valve, you shouldn't be able to suck fuel vapors through it.  If you can, the valve is stuck open.
