Hyundai Repair: fuel system, hyundai sonata, canister filter

Hello HT:

My Hyundai Sonata runs fine but when I gas her up I cannot put the gas pump on "automatic" and walk off - it shuts off.  I have to stay by the vehicle and pump gas.  I am sure it is not the pump.  What is wrong?

Usually, this indicates that your vapor management system is not venting properly.  One common issue is that the canister filter is plugged, but there are many other possibilities (such as liquid fuel in the canister, or a twisted hose) throughout the system.
