Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Window, internet explorer, sonatas

Question
My passenger window on my 2000 Hyundai will not go all the way up. It will go down easy but stops about 1/4 of an inch from the top. This is an electric window. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Answer
Presuming you have a Sonata (this is a common issue with 1999-2002 Sonatas), you'll either need to replace the regulator upper holder or the regulator itself.

Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 02-80-001 provides very nice details for replacing either the regulator upper holder or the regulator itself.  You can view the TSB at www.hmaservice.com (requires Internet Explorer) by signing up for a free account.

The part numbers are as follows:

left front holder: 82430-38000
right front holder: 82440-38000
left front regulator: 82403-38011
right front regulator: 82404-38011.

I copied the part numbers from the TSB.  If memory serves, the regulator numbers ending in -38011 may have superseded to numbers ending in -38012.
