Hyundai Repair: 2000 accent, coolant loss, radiator cap

Question
i'm experiencing a problem with coolant loss . before I dig in I thought asking might help .  i replaced the head gasket and water pump ,since the coolant wasnt maintaing pressure and there was water in the oil. i test drove the car and ran ok but lost coolant pressure . oil looked fine , thought air may be cause,so after several more top offs and test runs i notice oil contaminated with water again.do i have a cracked block or could there be another cause . thanks  jack in apple valley

Answer
It's possibly you have a cracked block or head.  But before we move down that avenue:

1.  what do you see that leads you to believe that your engine oil is contaminated with water?
2.  how frequently do you drive the car?
3.  how long is the typical trip in the car?
4.  did you check for any external leaks?
5.  have you checked the radiator filler neck for damage?
6.  have you checked the radiator cap to be sure the valve opens when vacuum is applied to allow coolant back into the radiator from the reservoir?
