Hyundai Repair: 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, hyundai santa fe, initial acceleration

Question
My vehicle has 53000 miles and runs great however lately I have noticed that it jerks or hesitates when I start to accelerate.  This is not frequent but at least twice a week.

Answer
If you have the 3.5L, there's an ECM reprogram available for smoother feeling initial acceleration.  (TSB 04-36-012)

If you have the 2.4 or 2.7, there's a TCM reprogram available for a "driveline bump" that occurs on acceleration from a stop after the vehicle has been off for more than an hour.  (TSB 04-40-008)

I'd recommend registering for a free account at www.hmaservice.com (requires Internet Explorer) and seeing if the appropriate bulletin describes your condition.  Without feeling it myself, it's difficult for me to judge.  It's possible there could be something else wrong with the vehicle causing it to intermittently run poorly.
