RV Repair: dometic fridge, fridge freezer, condensor

  freezer works fine..fridge doesn't
   could switch to gas and both freezer and fridge would work but on a/c just freezer would work..  now it doesn't matter , gas or electric
just the freezer works..

Hi Stan:

How old is this refrigerator that you are having trouble with? Have you noticed an odor, inside the refrigerator or freezer that resembles the odor of ammonia? It sounds like it may be getting low on refrigerant, which is ammonia in these units. What is the temperature of the freezer? Have you checked to make sure there is no blockage of any sort behind the refrigerator, that would keep air from properly flowing across the absorber and condensor coils? Be sure and check all the way up to where the vent exits the roof. Often times insects build nest on the screens or the outlet of the flue from the burner. If you cannot see clearly, go up on the roof and remove the cap that covers the exhaust from the refrigerator, then you will have a great view to check for obstructions.
