Answer
There should be a connector on the wiring coming from the speed sensor and another connector coming from the harness on the vehicle.  They should only be able to plug together one way.

If one or both plastic connectors is missing, you'll need to install a new connector.  If the end for the sensor is missing, you can install a new one most easily by replacing the wheel speed sensor.  If the connector is missing from the vehicle harness side, you'll need to solder the wires together, replace the vehicle harness, or see if the local dealer will give or sell you one out of their wire repair kit.

I don't know whether the schematic shows the wire colors on the speed sensor itself.  I'll be happy to look at the schematic for you, but I'll need to know the year and model of the vehicle so I can select the correct schematic.  In any event, if there are only two wires, it shouldn't matter which way the wires are connected, since the sensor produces an a/c voltage.  It will look the same to the computer no matter which of the two ways you connect the wires.
