Hyundai Repair: Cruse, cruise control module, hyundai elantra

Question
I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra and the cruse control doesn't work, the light comes on but not cruse.  I've checked the fuses and no blown fuses?  I noticed the brake lights were out, so I changed the bulbs and that helped the tail lights and brake lights but still no cruse control?  Thanks for the help.

Answer
It's possible that there's a problem with the bulbs that were used.  The appropriate replacement bulb is either 1157 or 2057.  You'll also want to check to make sure the rear tail and brake lamps are working exactly as they should be operating.  The tail lamps should come on when you turn on the outside lighting and the lamps should brighten when the brake pedal is depressed.

If the issue turns out to not be with the lamp, then it could be any of a host of other items, including the brake pedal switch, the cruise control switch, the air bag clock spring, or the cruise control module itself.
