Hyundai Repair: EGR removal, hyundai xg 300, egr valve

Question
I have a 2001 Hyundai xg 300 and my EGR valve is bad. I can not  figure out how to unscrew the exhaust nut. It is behind the engine and in a very tight spot. The nut is 1 1/16 and every tool they sell at auto zone it too big to fit the spot. I got a small pipe wrench, but with the limited space i can not get enough on the wrench. I know there has to be some tool but i am unsure what i am looking for.

Answer
You'll probably need what's called a crow's foot.  It's just the open end portion of an open end wrench with a square hole in it to attach a ratchet or extension rather than having a handle.  You may need to purchase a crow's foot of this size from the local tool dealer (Snap-On, MATCO, etc.)  Most retail outlets won't have one this large.

It may also be easier to take the pipe loose at the exhaust manifold and remove the pipe along with the EGR valve and then take them apart on the workbench.
