Hyundai Repair: front window repair, elentra, warrenty

My window stopped rolling down one night. I have a 2004 elentra(out of warrenty).  I saw a white piece come out of the door frame, but the motor still makes sound.  I am assuming that it just came off the track and is an easy fix.  I would really not like to pay the dealership a couple hundred dollars if I can do it myself.  Is it really that hard?

If you saw a white piece come out of the door, I'd suspect the window regulator has broken.  Without being able to see the piece or the door, however, it's difficult for me to be confident about that assessment.

If you're handy with a screwdriver and ratchet, you should be able to remove the door trim panel and take a look to see what's broken.  Unfortunately, if you do need a regulator, it comes as a large assembly that bolts into the door.
