hello! I was wondering what could possibly be going on with my hyundai because I'm having vibrations in the interior of my car including the front seats, stearing wheel, and dashboard.   The vibrations seem to be worse when I'm at a stop light, but the vibrations are still present when Im driving. A friend suggested that it could be my oxygen sensor or spark plugs because my check engine light was on too.  I replaced the oxygen sensor and my spark plugs are like new, what do you think the problem is?  Also, after I replaced the oxygen sensor my check engine light only stayed off for a week and came back.  I took it back to my mechanic and he said the code concerned my cadilac converter being clogged or a drip on my exhaust, but when he checked both he said there wasn't a problem.  He then told me that my computer and engine must be miss communicating and to just ignore the ligth and not worry about it.  Could there be a connection between the vibrations and my check engine light?  Thanks so much for your help!  Have a great day!

Depending on why your check engine lamp is on, there could indeed be a correlation between the vibration and the check engine lamp.  Unfortunately, the description you give isn't enough for me to know what type of problem you have.

If you can get the actual trouble code, that will help me determine why your check engine lamp is on and whether it's related to the vibrations you're experiencing.

Answer
The first step to stopping the vibrations is reading the diagnostic trouble codes which are stored in the engine and transmission computers.

Once we know the trouble codes, we can determine whether they may be related to the vibration and what steps will be necessary to locate the issue and solve it.
