Hyundai Repair: 2003 Tiburon clutch, clutch disc, clutch pressure plate

Question
When i try to speed up in any gear my car doesn't move, the rpm's just jump up and when i let off the gas a little it catches and will accelerate slowly. What is going on?

Answer
Presuming you have a manual transmission, your clutch is most likely worn out.  When the clutch disc becomes too thin due to the friction material wearing, the clutch pressure plate cannot place enough pressure on the disc to transfer the engine power to the transmission.  To resolve this, you'd need to replace your clutch (disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing).  Considering your description, it's likely that you've overheated the flywheel and will need to replace that as well.
