Hyundai Repair: clutch or throwout baring?, throwout bearing, hyundai accent

Question
Hi,
My Hyundai accent 2002 is making funny noises.  When I step on the clutch it makes a whining noise.  Two people gave me different opinions, how many hours of labor should I expect to pay for to get the problem fixed?
Thank you in advance.

Answer
Chances are it's your throwout bearing.  You should probably plan on six to seven hours labor to remove the subframe, remove the transmission, and replace the throwout bearing.  Considering the amount of labor involved, it's probably beneficial to replace the clutch disc and throwout bearing while it's apart.
