Hyundai Repair: hissing noise when turning, hyundai accent, nosound

Hi, I have a Hyundai Accent W reg 1.3. My check engine light came on about 2 weeks ago. I now have a hissing noise coming from the front of the car when accelerating or turning left. If i turn left whilst applying the brake there is nosound at all. Could it be a hose problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

From your description, it sounds like the hissing noise is coming from the brake pad wear indicators.

For the check engine lamp, you'll need to have the trouble codes checked.  We don't have the 1.3 in the U.S., so I don't know how much help I can offer if you give me the code.
