Hyundai Repair: improper jump start, fuse boxes, jumper cables

Question
My car was improperly jumped this morning. The guy trying to hook up the jumper cables had the negatives and positives switched. It caused sparks to fly several times. Someone else eventually hooked the cables up correctly and my car started just fine, but now my radio, clock, power locks and light telling me my door is open are all not working. However, my power windows and seat belt light are working. Do you think that just a fuse was blown or my entire power circuit (not sure what its called) is blown?

Answer
You've probably got at least one fuse blown.  Check all the fuses in the underhood and interior fuse boxes, replacing any that are blown.  You'll especially want to check the slow blow fuses with the clear plastic top.  Depending on the year and model of your car, you may have all of them in the main underhood fuse box, or you may also have a small box beside the battery cable with additional slow blow fuses.  There may also be a yellow holder with one or more fuses in it in either the interior or underhood fuse box.  Be sure to check those fuses as well.
