Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Tiberon Low Beam Lights, hyundai tiberon, low beams

Question
Hyundai Tiberon 2001 - The light output of my low beams is so dim I can barely see the road.  Is there a replacement lense or a different solution to my problem other than adding fog lights.

Answer
You'll first want to make sure the headlamps and your electrical system are operating properly.

1.  Make sure the correct bulb is installed.
2.  Make sure the lens is in good condition.
3.  Make sure the bulb is installed properly.  Incorrect bulb alignment will prevent proper focusing.
4.  Make sure the bulb is in good condition.  A bulb with a damaged filament may burn dimly.
5.  Make sure the reflector is in good condition.
6.  Turn on the headlamps and compare battery voltage to the voltage drop across the bulb terminals.  There should be no more than 0.5V difference between the readings.
7.  Check the battery voltage with the engine running.  It should be 13.5 to 14.5V.

If everything there is as it should be, then you're left with installing brighter lamps.  If something above is amiss, you should start with correcting that item.
