Hyundai Repair: Front end single pop noise when turning, backing up, or coasting., hyandai accent, best bet

Question
I own a 1995 Hyandai Accent.  For a couple weeks it has made a single pop noise under the front end when turning, backing up, or coasting.  It may be closer to the passenger side.  The noise is intermittent but occurs each time it is driven. What do you think needs repair? I take it to a nearby shop. Is it safe to drive in your opinion?

Answer
Unfortunately, the noise could be coming from just about anything.  I'd primarily suspect something in the suspension or steering since you note that it happens on turns.

Without hearing the noise, I cannot offer an opinion as to the likelihood it'll be dangerous.  Your best bet is to reproduce the noise for a reputable local shop and get their input as to the likelihood it's something significant/dangerous, and the likelihood it'll be easy to locate the source of the noise.  Most important is for the shop to understand what noise you're talking about.
