Hyundai Repair: hyundai accent starter, air intake hose, hyundai accent

Question
hyundai accent 2002 1.6l manual. starter is going out. i think it is overheating because it began having problems only after having been driven not after sitting for more than an hour. now it just wont start. figure i need to replace the starter since my alternator and battery are good. how do i go about this and is this a dificult job.

Answer
Replacing the starter isn't a difficult job, but does require some upper body flexibility.

1.  Disconnect the battery.
2.  Remove the air box and air intake hose.
3.  Unplug the solenoid terminal from the starter.
4.  Remove the battery cable from the starter (12mm nut).
5.  Remove the two 14mm bolts holding the starter to the transmission.
6.  Remove the starter through the space you've created by removing the air box.

Installation is the reverse of removal.
