Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Wheel Bearing, front wheel bearing, hyundai elantra

Question
I'm an ametuer when it comes to working on my Hyundai Elantra (2001), but I'm also cheap - can I replace my front wheel bearing (drivers side) with my own garage tools, or is this a professional job?

(If it matters, it is a manual trans. w/ about 150K miles).

Answer
You'll need a hydraulic press to do this.  Presuming you don't have one, you can remove the knuckle and hub assembly and take to a machine shop and have them press out the old bearing and press in a new one.  You'll want a new bearing and retaining clip.

Otherwise, you'll need to take it to a repair shop for the entire job.
