Question -
I have a hyundai that has just over 80000 miles on it and have no problems until now. When I try and fill my tank it takes about 20 min. Every time I press the lever it starts to fill, sounds like it is about to overflow then pops off the nozzle. I have tried readjusting the nozzle but it does not work. What could it be?

Hi, Chris.  Depending on the model year, the cars had different vapor recovery systems.  What year and model is your Hyundai?

Answer
Your vehicle's tank needs to vent through the charcoal canister in order to continue fueling.  Anything restricting that venting or the flow of fuel into the tank could cause the problem you describe.  Here are some things to check:

1.  Charcoal canister filter for clogging
2.  Rollover valves in top of tank for sticking (these close to prevent fuel spillage in the event of a vehicle rollover.  If they get stuck closed, the vapor cannot exit)
3.  Canister close valve for being stuck closed
4.  Physical damage to tank which could impede fuel flow into tank.
