Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Sonata, camshaft sensor, camshaft timing

Question
I have a 2000 hyundai sonata.  We recently  replaced the timing belt and tensioner. The belt had teeth sheered and the car did quit.  It seems all the valves are okay.  The car will  start and it runs better than it has in months for about 30 minutes.  Once the car warms up it dies and will not start again.  After the car cools off it starts again and will run until it warms up.   The check engine light is on and the code states that there is a problem with the camshaft postion sensor A circuit.  We have ordered the sensor, but is this what is causing it to die?

Answer
The code for the camshaft sensor will set if a camshaft is out of time.  The car will also run like you describe if a camshaft is out of time.  I'd recommend rechecking the camshaft timing to make sure it's correct.

Do you know if you have the 2.4L 4 cyl or the 2.5L v6?
