Hyundai Repair: Light bulb question, hyundai accent, light bulbs

Question
Thank you I really appreciate your response.

I was able to disconnect the wire directly from the heatbox behind the dashboard like you instructed.

After getting all the way inside the module and finding the lights it seems that they are not screwed in and are attached directly to wires (spliced directly into a power line).  I went to the local auto store and they do not have any lights even closley resembling them (they look kinda like christmas lights)  Any idea what they would be called so I could possibly find a replacemnt on the internet?  Or any ideas on where to find them.

Thanks

There used to be lights behind the temperature knob and vent adjustment buttons in the middle section of my dashboard (under my stereo).  I am on a massive hunt to fix these blown out light but I have kind of come to a dead end.  I took my car stereo out and pulled off the mid section which pulls forward slightly after disconnecting most of the wires for the clock, lighter and some other buttons however I can not pull the console all the way out.  It seems to have a wire attached directly to the temperature knob (red, blue / hot, cold).  Can you give me some insight as to what I should do or how to disconnect this wire . . its actually very short and heavy duty stiff which prevents me from pulling the console forward, which I would hoped would allow me to find the small light bulbs that have blown out.  BTW we are talking about a 98 Hyundai Accent.

The wire you're talking about is the temperature control cable.  You'll need to stuff your head under the dash, find where it attaches to the heater box, and unclip and disconnect it.  There's usually a detent clip on the cam arm it attaches to.  You'll need to depress the detent to get the cable off the cam arm.  It should be pretty straigtforward once you get under there and see everything.

Answer
Ordinarily, the lights in the hvac control are integral with the socket and attach directly to the circuit board.  You may not be able to locate them anywhere other than the dealer.  Simply refer to them by application like you've done here.  If someplace can get them, that's how they'll need to look them up, unless you take one in for them to try to match.
