Hyundai Repair: Accent Automatic Transmission, accent 4, electrical problem

Question
2001 Accent 4-cyl, Automatic Trans, 96K
My transmission was fine on the drive home.  Approximately an hour later, as I was driving, when the car attempted to shift into overdrive, the engine began revving and lost speed.  I checked the fluid and it was full.  When I attempted to move again, reverse would not work.  It only shifts one time, very roughly, after starting from a stop and will only go about 35-40 mph.

Answer
It sounds like an internal trans problem. You could have it checked for codes at a dealer to see if it is an electrical problem but I doubt it. If you are the original owner it should be covered under warranty provided it shows no signs of abuse or neglect.
Sorry I cant be of more help but it sure sounds like you need a trans.
