Isuzu Repair: bleeding the clutch, 1996 isuzu hombre, isuzu hombre

Question
QUESTION: How do you bleed the clutch on a 1996 isuzu hombre with a 2.2 liter engine?  Do you need to remove the transmission?

ANSWER: Hello Jeff. The bleeder screw on the release cylinder needs a plastic hose attached to it and immersed in an inch or two of clean brake fluid in an open container or jar/bottle. loosen the bleeder screw a few turns and have an assitstant depress the pedal a few times until bubbles no longer come out of the line. Then allow the pedal to be slowly raised back up. repeat a few times and the system should be good to go. Just remember to tighten the bleeder screw back up Jeff. Although if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask okay?

QUESTION: I bleed the clutch and the pedal feels different (soft) and it catches about 1/2 way up. It shifts thru all the gears and does not grind at all. There was no air in it that came out. I bleed in about 7 times or so. Maybe it is because the old clutch had a broken spring and the pilot bearing broke in half. One half was ground up by the input shaft and the other was left on the transmission when I pulled it out. The only thing that I noticed is that the fluid that came out was like oil. I kept adding new fluid to the master so it would not go dry. But it was still black in color.  Could this be an issue? Sorry the question was so long. Thanks.

Answer
Well your fluid is being contaminated by something. I bet you have bad lines and or alot of dirt in your tranny Jeff. Your findings do not sound good as a soft pedal means you have air entering your lines somewhere still. I would definately have this flushed and or looked over by a local shop because I cannot look at it myself, which makes it difficult to give you a 100% diagnosis Jeff.
