Isuzu Repair: 1994 Isuzu Pickup Fuel Pump, fuel line fittings, flare nut

Question
QUESTION: My engine's idle speed varies. It gets higher then lower, then higher, then lower, etc. I was thinking that maybe the fuel pump and/or the fuel filter needs to be replaced. Can anyone tell me where these parts are located? I read on another forum that "The fuel pump is mounted to the underside of the intake manifold where it bolts onto the cylinder head." Which, if correct, leads to the question, where is the intake manifold?. I'd be glad to hear anyone's take on if it's an easy or hard job to replace the fuel pump and fuel filer. Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: What engine and transmission do you have MIke?

QUESTION: It's a 2.3 litre, 4 cylinder. Thanks for helping me out and I look forward to finding the fuel pump and fuel filter location.

Answer
The fuel pump is located by the engine mounts. Near the bottom of the block on the passenger side if I remember correctly Mike. So you will see some gas lines running to a pump and the only thing to remember is to use a flare-nut wrench as to not destroy the delicate fuel line fittings. Also a rag to catch the gas and a gasket for the new pump. As for the fuel filter If it is a 94 it it should be on the passenger side by the rear tire. It is a cylinder-like object and will have one line going in and one line going out. Make sure to install the filter to flow the right direction as well. Any more questions and I am all ears Mike!!!
