Isuzu Repair: transmission light blinking, doest, rpms

I recently bought a 95 rodeo 2wd v6.  Everything seems pretty good except between 60-70 mph the 'check trans' light starts blinking.  Then when you come to a stop and try to go again its doest have much power.  If you shut it off and restart it the light is off and everything seems fine. Also, the rpms seem awfully high, about 3500 at 65 over 4000 at 75.  Is that normal range for these?

Not at all James. At 70 mph you should be running at about 2500 rpm. It sounds like you have either a bad p.c.m or your transmission has something seriously wrong with it. Have you checked the fluid or had a diagnostic run on it yet? I would. Something is not right. What are some of the other problems?
