Isuzu Repair: 91 Rodeo Speedometer Not Working, speedometer cable, odometer

Daniel, this is follow up to a question I posted before. My speedometer doesn't work (odometer does work) I pulled the instrument panel and noticed the cable is not spinning when I drive. Should I assume the problem is the cable? This is a 5 speed maual transmition.

Well Jeff yes. Your speedometer cable is connected into a plastic gear that is on the side of the transmission. Either your cable is broke, or the gear is stripped or not connected. The cable runs both your speedometer and your odometer. I would check both of these and I am sure you will find a problem with the gear drive.
