Isuzu Repair: ABS light and thumping sound, alignment problem, isuzu amigo

Question
I have a 98 Isuzu Amigo with 139,000 miles. The ABS light is coming on/off occasionally. Is this anything to be really alarmed about? What does this light mean?
Also when I'm traveling about 55-60 mph there is a slight thumping noise around the steering column area. You can feel the thumping through the steering wheel and floorboard area. It's not severe just enough to get my attention and make me a little worried. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much!

Answer
Well Kim. The ABS could be your ABS moduel is going out(very bad) although this is covered by a recall notice. Or a wheel speed sensor coulod be bad. I would start with checking your brake fluid level and your brakes as well. The shaking is probably due to a bent wheel or an alignment problem. I would have your front-end checked and they will most likely find a problem. I am sorry for the bad news but if you need anymore assistance I am here for you okay?
