Isuzu Repair: 96 Isuzu Trooper, isuzu trooper, valve train

Question
I have a 96 Isuzu trooper, at about 165,000 miles i started hearing a noise that sounds like my lifters are sticking. For about ten thousand miles it did this on and off, now the sound is constant. I took it to a guy that said to run marble mystery oil through it and that should work, but it didn't.  I have also tried the Lucas oil stuff and it didn't work. I have been contemplating ripping it apart and changing the lifters, then i herd they don't have lifters.  So what do you think i should do?

Answer
Well Bobby. First of all they do have lifters. Secondly I would not tear it apart ever!. The noise is most likely the valve-train componants telling you they are in dire need of maintenance. I had a Rodeo that did the same thing and there is really no cure for this problem honestly. Unless you use a heavy oil with an aditive like 10w40 mystic or Lucas oil.
